VIMFF 2012: Climb For Change Evening - Feb 17, 7:30 pm - Pacific Cinemateque
Moving Mountains: climbing to gain new perspectives and resilience for ourselves and our communities
Join Climb For Change and friends for one inspiring and thought provoking evening at the 2nd Climb For Change night at VIMFF 2012! Opening the evening will be a panel discussion with bestselling author and professional speaker Warren MacDonald, renowned ice climber and author Margo Talbot, social entrepreneur, naturalist and Explorer’s Club Fellow Jeffrey Whiting, and youth community leader, IDEAS Ambassador, and climber Clinton Shard. Hear from and interact with our guest panellists as they share their unique perspectives on moving mountains both personally and in our communities. Mike Schauch, President and Co-Founder of Climb For Change will moderate the evening.
Following the panel discussion, we’ll be screening the film ‘Blindsight’, which recounts the gripping journey of Erik Weihenmayer (first blind man to climb Mt. Everest), and his quest to lead six blind Tibetan teenagers on an ascent up the 23,000 foot Lhakpa Ri on the north side of Mount Everest.
